We are located at Cinema Citya three screen cinema housed in the centre of Norwich in the historic Suckling House and Stuart Hall. Having undergone a major redevelopment, Cinema City re-opened in October 2007 as a digitally equipped three screen cinema. Cinema City Ltd

Cinema City Ltd (formally Norfolk & Norwich Film Theatre Ltd) is the charity that cares for the historic Cinema City buildings in Norwich. Our education objectives are delivered through Cinema City Education, Cinema City’s established and successful education programme. The cinema exhibition programme and the restaurant & bar are run under a management contract by Picturehouse Cinemas Ltd a successful network of cinemas with a cultural programming policy.

History: Established in 1966, Cinema City Ltd is the charity that cares for the historic Cinema City buildings in Norwich and which is dedicated to the use of film to encourage learning, debate and creative skills among people of all ages and abilities.

Moving to its current St Andrew’s site in 1978 as a single-screen Regional Film Theatre, in 2007 the new Cinema City re-opened following a major redevelopment, as a digitally equipped three- screen venue in partnership with Picturehouse Cinemas. Since re-opening, cinema attendances and participation in Cinema City Education activities has grown significantly to take advantage of the increased resources at the venue. We now plan to continue to build on this success by extending access to these activities, via a developing outreach and widening access strategy, over the next three years

Cinema City Education: Our education objectives are delivered through the vehicle of Cinema City Education, Cinema City’s established and successful education programme. Activities are targeted at all age groups and abilities and Cinema City Education has expanded its provision through the development of a number of key partnerships with other organisations and educational providers. Cinema City’s education programme is managed directly by Cinema City Ltd.

Tasks and role: The primary tasks of the Board of Cinema City Ltd are to monitor the performance of Picturehouse Cinemas Ltd against the Service Level Agreement, the overall performance of Cinema Plus and the charity’s obligations under the lease.
